2025 Review

2025 Goals Yearly Review

2025 Goal Series

For the fourth year in a row, I’ve taken to writing (at least) 5 goals that I’d like to accomplish, tracking the progress monthly, and publishing what I’ve been able to achieve. The 2025 goals I set were:

  1. Continue to post at least three times a month
  2. Target focus podcast episodes
  3. Expand The Leadership Series
  4. Prioritize personal health
  5. Rotational goals for the year

Below are the links to the monthly progress reports:

While I assess them monthly, I believe it’s prudent to also review them at the end of the year. Let’s take a look – starting with regular and consistent posting three times a month.

2025 Goals – Continue to post at least three times a month

Publishing regular and consistent content is important

I have exceeded this goal for several years now. What grade does this particular goal get?

A+

2025 Goals – Target focus podcast episodes

The Wealthy Ironworker Podcast – listen to/watch wherever you consume podcasts

In November 2024, my adult son passed away, and from then until October of this year – about 10/11 months – I didn’t have much desire to sit in the podcast studio and record episodes. I was a guest twice on another podcast and had a guest on mine, but that’s it.

But enough time has passed, and I was ready to get behind the microphone.

So I did.

Even so, this goal was definitely NOT meant.

Grade for the year:

F

I didn’t have enough time to target focus anything, so I didn’t accomplish this particular goal – but for my part, I’ll accept the fact that I am behind the mic again as a win.

2026 WILL be different.

2025 Goals –Expand The Leadership Series

There are numerous reasons why this website is exploring leadership, and you can read the articles for more information. However, The Leadership Series has been expanded to achieve this goal. At the time of this yearly review, I have only two or three more articles left to publish (as the current outline stands – I plan to expand it).

You can read The Leadership Series for more information (and I encourage you to do so!).

How do I grade the achievement of this particular goal?

A+

2025 Goals – Prioritize Personal Health

What exactly were the goals I had?

  1. Zero alcohol
  2. 8,000 daily steps (roughly 4 miles a day)
  3. Take a multivitamin daily
  4. 50% of my body weight drank in ounces of water daily
  5. Maintain a 500 – 1,000-calorie deficit daily
  6. Establish a consistent workout regimen (strength training and cardio)

For spiritual health, I attempt the following:

  1. Read a devotional daily
  2. Read my bible daily
  3. Read/study books I’ve had on my shelf for too long now

So, how did I do with this particular goal?

I didn’t achieve a single physical goal, but I met every spiritual goal. They don’t cancel each other out, but it isn’t a total wash, either.

Grade for this year?

C

2025 Goals – Rotational Goals for the Year

These were the rotational goals for 2025:

  1. Quasi-soundproof the podcast studio – I met this goal.
  2. Review at least 6 more books for The Book Review Series to be published in 2025 – I actually exceeded this goal:
    1. Pensionless – The 10 Step Solution for a Stress-free Retirement – Book Review
    2. Mad Genius – Book Review
    3. Capitalists Arise! – Book Review
    4. Start Something That Matters – Book Review
    5. The War of Art – Book Review
    6. Do The Work – Book Review
    7. Work Backwards – Book Review

3. Expand The Mental Health Series – This goal I did nothing with.

The grade for the 2025 Rotational Goals:

B –

Wrapping up the year

Let’s put a nice bow on 2025, shall we?

I’ve had some success, but also experienced setbacks, with the goals for 2025. Nevertheless, I’m convinced goals are worth setting and pursuing. Otherwise, you are wandering aimlessly through life, being tossed to and fro with every little wave. When I look back, I can see how things in life just happen and derail you – and that’s alright. What’s important is that you achieve and pursue something. And when you are thrown curveballs? Adapt and overcome.

Overall grade for the 2025 year?

C+

Overall, this seems like the best year yet for goals – which inspires me to overachieve in 2025. Onward goals!

So, wrapping this all up, I have a question for you, the reader: what were your goals, and how well did you achieve them? Please let me know by visiting the Contact page and sending me an email.
